Acoustic Strawbs

Another great party thanks to Bob and Lou. Nick Evans was on holiday this year so Bryn Phillips started off proceedings, here accompanied by Ann and Corrine.

For the next song, Bryn was joined by Steve Walker on harmonica...

... before Bob joined Lou for a couple of songs.

After a short break, the Strawbs launched into a medley of Benedictus and Simple Visions.

The Strawbs normally include a couple of songs in their sets where Dave Cousins plays the banjo. Tonight we were treated to three, with Shine On Silver Sun and Cold Steel being followed by Witchwood.

Bob and Lou always organise something unexpected as a finale to their parties. This year we were told the party wouldn't be over until the "fat lady had sung". But before that we were treated to a great rendition of Nessun Dorma by tenor Roger "Pavarottino".

So, finally, fellow opera singer Lorraine rounded off proceedings with a rousing version of Rule Britannia.
If I'd been her I'd have thumped Bob for calling me "fat"! :)
